As rich and diverse in experience as he is passionate Matthew's twenty plus years of filmmaking has traversed many continents and taken on many guises. With multiple credits in his prefered role of Documentary Director/Editor he has also, by necessity, honed the skills of Producer applying this to Corporate, Music and Educational Videos as well as Short Films and Narrative. All of this is complimented coming from a background as an Assistant Director for Television Comedy/Drama and Feature Films.
He is a Filmmaker in the sense of Storyteller and all of the other skills have been grown and developed to champion this cause. Matthew is acutely aware of the three chances of perfecting an audio visual story. Firstly in drafting the Script, secondly in the Production phase and thirdly, the final chance in the Edit. Equally comfortable in all of these phases, he enjoys the challenge of striving for the best communication solution regardless of format or genre
Matthew has also spent the last eight years as a part time film educator teaching degree level for the University of Canberra & Holmesglen and at Institutions like Swinburne, Open Channel, SAE & JMC Academy. He has also consulted to corporate clients such as Spinach Advertising, The Herald Sun, LaTrobe University and Orygen.
He also has a passion for Asian Cinema, especially The Philippines and South Korea where he has lived and tavels to regularly. He has attended the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) three times as well as the DMZ Int Documentary Festival and the Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival, both in 2015.
